Doctors Appointments

We had a doctor appointment today for both boys. Rece did really well even with the Doctor looking in his ears. And the nurse asked if Rece played games and I said you mean like Ring around the Rosies? and she said yes, and Rece promptly started performing. It was cute. And Carmine did pretty good. He got shots and he cried but as soon as I turned him around to face me he stopped crying. Pretty easy. He gained almost a pound and 1/4". And Rece gained 2 lbs. and 3/4". both have pretty much stayed on the same growth curve as they have been on. Everyone looks good and Carmine will go back in 3 months and Rece in 6 months.

Well our phone line has been down since Friday, so no computer until now!
Carmine had his 4 month check up today. He is tiny still!! He is 12 lbs. 9.5 oz. and 24 in. Which means he didn't grow at all in length and only gained 6.5 oz! But the pediatrician isn't worried so neither am I. He is still thriving and happy.

And the doctor is still fine, even encouraging, about me waiting until at least 6 months to start solids. He did get 4 shots today an of course cried but he seems to be ok.

Not bad. I am having a little trouble keeping my motivation up. I ended the LifePoints challenge that I was doing with my mom. We won!!! And overall I was the biggest loser. So that was great and that was by no means the reason I started working out. But I have a competitive streak and that was helping it along. I try to get up at 5:30 to work out. It is the only consistent time I have to do and the only garunteed time. And the thing is is that I feel so much better through the day when that happens. But, that 5:30 comes pretty quickly especially if you have a child waking in the middle of the night (or two). They generally both sleep through the night but occasionally Carmine wakes to eat. And lately Rece has been having issues with pee and poo so he occasionally wakes at night! But I really want to get back on track. Hopefully tomorrow, but right now I have a cold and slightly sore throat. So we will see.

2 Month appointment

Carmine had his 2 month appointment today. All is well. He weighs 11 lb. 4 oz. and is 22.5 in. long. Both are in the 25th percentile. He is a little smaller then Rece was at 2 months. He had to get 4 shots :( I hate those appointments! But overall he is doing well, nothing too exciting.

6 Weeks

I had my 6 week check up with the OB this morning. Basically everything looks great! He was really excited about my weight loss. Of course I didn't tell him that I had been working out for 3 weeks, but oh well. And he held Carmine and asked how I was feeling and said it was great that I was breastfeeding. Very easy relaxed appointment. He gave me a prescription for BC and said see you for your annual in June!

1 Month

Carmine is 1 month old! I can't believe it.

We had his 1 month appointment today along with a sick visit for Rece. Carmine is 8 lbs. 10.5 oz. and 21 in. His height is in the 25th percentile and his weight is between 25th and 50th. He is growing like a weed. They asked if he is smiling, being alert while awake, tracking some with his eyes and grasping fingers. We could happily say yes to all 4 questions! Compared to Rece at 1 month, Carmine is 1.5 oz. smaller and .25 in. bigger!

As far as Rece goes, his fever was 103.3 this morning. And his ear infections have still not cleared up all the way. The doctor thinks he has another viral bug causing the fever on top of his existing infections. So we got a third round on antibiotics. This one a little stronger. The poor little guy is miserable. He is so whiny and clingy and crying a lot today! I can't really blame him cause I am sure he is probably achy and has no idea why. The doctor said the fever should be gone in the next day or two and he is already started on his antibiotics.

How do we do it?

Stay at home moms that is? (or dads)....



This is what happened at about 4:00 this afternoon! I have 3 sleeping boys in my living room. Tony didn't have to go to work today due to all the snow and freezing rain!

This is how Rece fell asleep. He is yet again sick. He has had a fever all day. He was up 5 times last night crying! More then Carmine! Carmine has his 1 month appointment tomorrow so I called to make sure he could check Rece over too. Everyone needs to get better! I think Carmine is almost better, but now Rece again. Hopefully it doesn't keep going like this.

Rough Day with Progress

Well, to go with Rece's double ear infection, I also have an ear infection in my left ear plus a sinus infection plus mastitis in my right breast! Sounds like fun huh? Plus a very clingy 2 year old. I can't tell if it is because he is sick or because of Carmine being here or both, but Rece finally had enough of Carmine I guess, cause he got him really good. Of course it was while I was at the doctor this morning so I didn't even see it. My mom stayed home from work for a couple of hours while I went in. I feel bad for Rece cause he feels so sick plus he doesn't really understand about Carmine but when is the aggressiveness going to stop??????

But the good news is that Tony got the nursery painted!! It is still in progress. There are a few odds and ends needed and there will be paint added. Stay tuned!

I was forced to venture out with both boys today for the first time! We had to go to the doctors (again) for Rece. He has had a fever on and off for the last couple of days and apparantly he has an ear infection in both ears!! The first one never went away. So we got a different antibiotic. I guess 2 years with no ear infections was pretty good!

4 Day checkup

Yesterday Carmine had his first outing! We started out going to the doctor's. At the hospital he went down to 6 lbs. 14 oz. and now he is up to 7 lbs.! But, I am pretty sure the nurses at the hospital did not get him stretched out enough because now he is 20 in. Oh well. But otherwise he looked great.

And after that we went and spent a fortune at Babies R Us to try to get his room finished. We got almost everything. The only things we have left to get is the bed skirt, the diaper stacker, a lamp and 2 valances. At least I think that is it for now. Then we went out to lunch with Carmine and Rece's great grandma. Then home for everyone to take a nap. Well, not daddy, he went back out and picked Shrek up from his grooming and bought the paint for Carmine's room. So hopefully after this weekend we will have nursery pictures!
